Itinerary: 4 Day Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
A 4-day trip from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert starts early in the morning. We will cross the Tizi n’Tichka (2,260 m) in the High Atlas mountains, where you can enjoy beautiful landscapes and Berber villages along the road to Ouarzazate, gateway to the Sahara Desert. We will stop along the way to visit the village of Telouet and the Kasbah. Lunch and then continue through an old track to our next stop.
The next destination is Ait Ben Haddou, World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO in 1987. Many famous films have been performed on this place, like “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Jesus of Nazareth”. Finally we will go to Ouarzazate, where we will spend the first night in a Kasbah hotel.
Overnight: Hotel in Ouarzazate (dinner and breakfast included)
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
After breakfast, we will arrive to the Todra Gorges, driving through beautiful valleys and seeing the big limestone cliffs that reach 300 meters high. At midday, we will have lunch in the Merzouga hotel and continue to the impressive dunes of the Sahara Desert. When we finish the day, you will do the camel excursion across the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will spend a wonderful night in the Sahara Desert camp with music and a campfire.

Day 3: Merzougua – Alnif – Tazzarine – Nkob – Zagora
After watching a beautiful sunrise and spending the night in the Sahara Desert, we will go to Alnif across of Rissani, the historic home of the Alaouite dynasty. We will eat lunch in Alnif and continue our route, stopping to see the traditional mud-brick kasbahs in Tazzarine and Nkob. We will finish the day driving to the gateway of the southern desert, dining and sleeping in the Zagora hotel.
Overnight: Hotel in Zagora (dinner and breakfast included)
Day 4: Zagora – Agdz – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will cross the magnificent Draa Valley, which is full of thousands of green palm trees, and pass through the mountain town of Agdz. We will continue to Ouarzazate, where we will eat lunch. After lunch, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains again and go to Marrakech to end the tour. We will make our final descent into Marrakech back to your accommodation.
