During this 6 days tour from Tangier, you will sample and explore some of Merzouga’s best-known desert villages. Itinerary:

Day 1: Tangier-Chefchaouen:

We will transport you from Tangier to Chefchaouen as soon as you get to in the capital. The next stop will be at Tetouan. Next, proceed to Chefchaouen. Its meaning in the Amazigh language is “horns.” It is located between the two mountains. Once you reach this region, which is famous for its blue and white architecture, you will be able to enjoy the region’s culinary arts and walk through its bright streets. You will spend the night in a hotel or riad in this city, where you can relax and recuperate.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes:

The morning begins with the refreshing wind of Chefchaouen; later, our journey will lead us to the ruins of Volubilis. Day 3: Fes guided tour:

We are going to dedicate an entire day to exploring Fez; we typically employ a local guide and accompany him or her throughout the city. Attarine Fountain, Medresahs, Shahrij, Bouinania, Royal Palace Gate, Zoco, Fes El-Jedid, and the Qaraouine Mosque are just some of the attractions to visit. In the afternoon, we continue touring these attractions or have time to explore on our own. The night is spent in your accommodation.

Day 4: Fes-Azrou-Midelt-Ziz Valley-Merzouga:

We have an entire day to explore the unique and captivating landscapes that make the six-day voyage from Tangier so special. Be active for Barbary monkeys as you go through the cedar and pine forests. Before arriving at the dunes of the Sahara Desert for a camel ride, cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, the pre-desert landscape, and the deep gorges with a majestic oasis of verdant palm trees. We spend the night in a tent in the desert.

Day 5: Merzouga-Rissani-Tinghir-Dades gorges:

Today, we will leave to the breathtaking Dades Valley by traveling through Rissani and Erfoud, a town known for its petrified marbles, where you will see a workshop producing marble fossils. The majority of the villagers on the other side of the river, attracted by the tourism industry, live in more modern homes. Then, we travel to Dades via the Todra Gorge, a beautiful location for hiking and wandering on our own. Spend the night in a Riad.

Day 6: Dades gorges-Ouarzazate-Atlas montains-Marrakech:

We will visit Ait Benhaddou, a “fortified kasbah” located on the historic trade route between the Sahara and Marrakech. On a hill overlooking the Ouarzazate River, it’s made up of several inhabited kasbahs. The UNESCO World Heritage Site has appeared in a number of films, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. After lunch, we cross the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech. Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen:

Our guide will meet you at Tangier’s airport and transport you to Chefchaouen, a town built as a private, mysterious base for fighting the Portuguese along the north coast. Europeans were prohibited from accessing the region until 1920 when Spanish troops arrived. Arrive in Chefchaouen in the afternoon and come across its inhabitants for the first time. You’ll be spending the night in a hotel.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Fes:

Day 3: Fes sightseeing tour:

The day will be spent exploring Fez, the kingdom’s oldest metropolis. You will feel as if you have been transported back to the eighth century as soon as you walk through the narrow medieval alleys. You will be surrounded by spices, mint tea, fresh produce, Berber textiles, and a variety of other artistic objects. We will visit the first college in the world, the Qaraouine Mosque. It was founded by Fatima el Fihri in 859. Our next stop will be the art museum at Batha Palace. Later, we will visit the Chouara Tanneries, pass by the Nejjarine Fountain, and explore thirteenth-century Madrasas. Purchase a few items in the Attarine Souk. We are going to watch the sunset from atop the huge dunes. As soon as we arrive, we will enjoy a delicious meal with the locals while listening to Berber drummers perform under the stars.

Our 3 days Fes to Merzouga desert tour takes you from Fes to the Erg Chebbi dunes. The best way for travelers with only a few days in Morocco to experience the beauty of the Sahara desert is to spend an unforgettable night at a beautiful desert camp, followed by a camel trek.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Fes – Azrou -Midelt – Merzouga:

After breakfast, we start our desert tour from Fes to the Sahara Desert. We’ll be spending the better part of the day making our way through picturesque forests, mountains, and Berber communities as we make our way over the Middle Atlas Mountains after a hearty breakfast. We’ll stop in Ifrane, also known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before continuing on mountain roads with views of the gushing Oued Ziz and on to Erg Chebbi via various kasbahs and palm groves. We’ll begin our camel ride to the desert camp as soon as you arrive, stopping in the middle of the golden dunes so you can take in the breathtaking sunset before continuing to the camp where you’ll spend the night. After dinner, we’ll sit around the fire and play some traditional music on the drums while gazing at the stars.

Day 2: Merzouga 4×4 excursion:

We recommend getting up early on this day to view the sunrise near the camp. After breakfast, you begin our desert excursion by 4wd to discover the area of the Merzouga Desert. You begin by seeing the fossils area, then proceed to meet nomadic families and learn about their cattle-based lifestyle. We shall have a cup of tea with them before heading to Mifiss mines, a historic coal mine that was operated by French businesses in the 1900s. Following that, we visit Khamlia, a small community inhabited by people originally from Sub-Saharan Africa and noted for their Gnaoua music. They will play original music as well as African dances. You eat lunch in the village with the region’s signature cuisine, “Berber Pizza.” In the afternoon, you’ll drive to the hotel on the dune’s edge, where you’ll have some leisure time.

Day 3: Merzouga desert – Ziz Valley – Middle Atlas – Fes

After breakfast at the hotel, we will go on with the next leg of our private desert tour in the Fes region.
