4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech via the Merzouga dunes: During this Merzouga circuit beginning in Fes, you will also discover Morocco’s hidden secrets. Explore the Merzouga desert, with its grandeur and golden sand, and Ouarzazate, which is a testament to the authenticity and richness of Moroccan architectural heritage, as well as the ancient history of its majestic Kasbahs; Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, Taourirt Kasbah.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Fez -Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi:
We begin our 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech at 8 a.m., crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains and Cedar Forests on our way to Midelt. We pass by Ifrane, a beautiful ski resort, and Azrou, a major craft community specializing in cedar woodworking. When we arrived, we will stop in Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon, we will travel to Erfoud and into the desert. The hotel is located close to the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Sahara.
Day 2: Merzouga Erg Chebbi:
We spent the second day of our 4-day trip from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga in the Sahara. With a guide, tour After breakfast, we will travel to Khamlia village to listen to Gnawa music, then continue on an off-road route to explore the dunes before pausing for a cup of tea at a Nomads tent, they make use of Berber camps. From there, you will learn about a unique way of life and enjoy Berber pizza for lunch. You will return to the hotel to relax before beginning your camel journey across the dunes at sunset. Then, you will travel to the camp to spend the night in a tent camp.
Day 3: Merzouga-Tinghir-Dades gorges
Your camel man will wake you up for sunrise in a setting where the colors of the dunes and the movement of the shadows create a magnificent image. After that, you will shower and have breakfast at your camp. We will proceed to the Dades Gorges via Rissani, pausing in Erfoud, a town known for its petrified marbles, to visit a facility that creates fossilized marble. Then, we enter the Todra Gorge, a magnificent area for hiking and discovery on your own. Overnight in Dades.
Day 4: Dades gorges-Ouarzazate-Marrakech
We travel to Ait Benhaddou, a “fortified kasbah” on the ancient trade route between Marrakech and the Sahara. Located on a hill overlooking the Ouarzazate River, it’s made up of several inhabited kasbahs. Several movies, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones, have featured the UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch, we proceed to Marrakech across the High Atlas, and your 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech concludes.
